Course Author: Melanie Cairns

Melanie has over 10 years’ experience in acting in commercial disputes at the Bar. She is known for her commercial approach to running and resolving litigation and she regularly appears in the NSW Supreme and District Courts, in the Federal Court of Australia and in appellate courts led and unled.

Melanie has acted as counsel for a wide variety of clients including AIG, AMP, Baulderstone, Camden Council, Onepath (a life insurer), Perpetual, QBE, the NSW Department of Health and Tenix Defence, as well as having acted for individuals and small to medium sized entities.

Melanie’s areas of specialisation include insurance and intellectual property and before coming to the Bar, Melanie was a Senior Associate at Clayton Utz.
